The meeting provides an opportunity for researchers, health professionals, international, national and local managers of rabies programs, wildlife biologists, laboratory personnel and other people interested in advancing knowledge of rabies surveillance, prevention and control, to meet each other, to share their successes and also to discuss the challenges to be met.

The Medical and Veterinary Virus Research (MVVR) symposium is an initiative of KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme and KEMRI- CDC and the National Influenza Centre. It brings together scientists working in the fields of medical and veterinary virus research interact and share their research experiences. The MVVR forum provides an opportunity to showcase various research works going on in the region and enable networking and collaborations among the researchers.
The International Veterinary Vaccinology Network (IVVN) Meeting 2017 will take place at the Ole Sereni Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting aims to: bring together United Kingdom (UK) and low-and-middle income country (LMIC) partners to form collaborations; introduce other networks that IVVN members should be aware of and bring together academic with industrial and other non-academic partners. The meeting will be composed of 4 themes: Vaccines for Zoonotic Diseases, Veterinary Vaccine Production in Africa, Synthetic Biology in Vaccine Development and Livestock Vaccines Here & Now.
