AMR and innovative alternatives to antibiotics
AMR and innovative alternatives to antibiotics
- In October and November 2021, STAR IDAZ IRC and IDRC (International Development Research
Centre, Canada) organized 5 workshops on Alternatives to Antibiotics (ATA). For further details of the areas covered and the agendas see Report: Star-Idaz-State-ATA-Report-2022_edit - A research gap analysis workshop organized by STAR IDAZ IRC and held alongside the 3rd International Symposium, Alternatives to Antibiotics, Challenges and Solutions in Animal Health and Production, Bangkok, Thailand, on December 16 -18, 2019. See workshop report at Bangkok workshop, 19 December 2019: Research needs for developing innovative alternatives to antibiotics discussed
- As part of the global initiative to control and counteract the effects of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), STAR-IDAZ IRC and the Global AMR R&D Hub [https://globalamrhub.org/] have entered a collaboration partnership. The partnership is based on their common interest to strengthen global research efforts and reduce duplication of research on priority infectious diseases of animals relevant to AMR. This joint effort includes the exchange and dissemination of relevant AMR R&D expertise, information and data in animal health and supports more efficient use of international resources through the identification of gaps, overlaps and potential for cross-sectoral collaboration.
