International Pandemic Sciences Conference 2023 – Making the Exceptional Routine

10th July 2023 @ 8:00 am - 11th July 2023 @ 5:00 pm

Over the last three years, the tireless work of the global scientific and research community in
addressing COVID-19 has protected health systems, restored livelihoods and saved millions
of lives.
These scientific advances and breakthroughs were built on many years of existing
groundwork in pandemic science research.
But they were also due to the innovation, partnerships, investment and new approaches
rapidly deployed during the pandemic. How can we ensure these exceptional ways of
working become business as usual in pandemic sciences?
The Conference’s 2023 theme, Making the Exceptional Routine, will explore how the level of
innovation and multidisciplinary and multisectoral partnership we saw during COVID-19 can
happen day-in, day-out to protect us from another devastating pandemic.
The conference will explore four topics through plenary and parallel sessions:
Topic 1. Real-world interventions – Vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics and clinical trials
Topic 2. Pathogen biology and new threats
Topic 3: Ethics, social science and policy
Topic 4. Epidemiology, data and analytics
