Brazilian Call for Projects with International Collaboration

The Foundation for the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – CAPES in Brazil (www.capes.gov.br) recently opened a call to invite scientists from other countries as “special visitors’ researchers – PVE” to participate in the program “Science without Borders”. This call aims to provide support to research projects to promote the consolidation, expansion and internationalization of science and technology, innovation and competitiveness of Brazil, through the exchange, mobility and international scientific and technological cooperation.

The approved project will have financial support of a scholarship for the Special Visiting Researcher for two to three years, with a minimum stay of 30 days in Brazil, up to a maximum of 90 days for each year of the project stays in continuous stays or not (R$ 14,000.00 / about U.S. $ 7,000.00, for each month of stay in Brazil). To research actions allowance is up to R$ 50,000.00 (approximately U.S. $ 25,000.00) per year.

In addition, the program can also provide a scholarship for a PhD student from Brazil in a sandwich abroad – to follow the research Researcher Special Guest – PVE in his/her home institution as well as a scholarship to postdoctoral researcher from Brazil for up to 36 months.
