I’m a PhD microbiologist and senior researcher at INIAV, and I also teach veterinary microbiology at Lusófona University. I specialize in zoonotic bacterial diseases, particularly Brucella spp., and lead Portugal’s national reference activities for brucellosis diagnosis. With over 20 years of experience in animal health research, I have contributed to 18 R&D projects, including work on antimicrobial resistance in aquaculture with DTU, and actively participate in major European collaborations such as HORIZON and the One Health Cofound EJP.
