STAR IDAZ Executive Committee Meets in Beijing to Advance Global Animal Health Research
The STAR IDAZ International Research Consortium (IRC) Executive Committee met in Beijing, China, on 23–24 September for its annual in-person meeting. The gathering, kindly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science (CAAS), was organised by SIRCAH (Support for the International Research Consortium on Animal Health) and brought together international partners to strengthen collaboration in tackling animal health challenges.
The Executive Committee, which meets twice a year, includes one representative per funding body (public, charity, and the animal health private sector), alongside representatives from WOAH, the Scientific Committee Chair, and the STAR IDAZ Chairperson. Its role is to coordinate research funding strategies that address global research priorities, including those identified by the Scientific Committee.
STAR IDAZ is a global network of animal health research funders and programme owners. By coordinating animal health research across borders, the consortium aims to accelerate the development and delivery of innovative tools and strategies for disease control.
The Beijing meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress, align international efforts, and set future directions to help address pressing animal health issues worldwide.
