Five articles published in Joint DISCONTOOLS / STAR IDAZ retrospective collection
STAR IDAZ IRC is delighted that five articles have now been published in the Joint DISCONTOOLS / STAR IDAZ Retrospective Collection: DISCONTOOLS & STAR IDAZ research gaps for infectious disease control in animals.
The collection is being organised in collaboration with BMC Veterinary Research, with Professor Gary Entrican, STAR IDAZ Scientific Committee, and Dr Johannes Charlier, DISCONTOOLS and STAR IDAZ Secretariat, serving as guest editors.
The published articles cover topics including whole genome sequencing, diagnostic gap analysis, and disease-specific gap analyses on PCV2 in pigs and contagious bovine pleuropneumonia in cattle, as well as alternatives to antimicrobials.
The deadline for submissions has now passed, and we look forward to the publication of further articles following peer review. Papers currently under evaluation include a review of the STAR IDAZ approach to advancing innovation in animal health, further reviews based on work conducted by the Alternatives to Antibiotics Working Group, and disease-specific gap analyses on contagious caprine pleuropneumonia, paratuberculosis, trypanosomiasis and mycoplasmosis in pigs.
