Poland’s National Veterinary Research Institute Joins STAR IDAZ IRC
The STAR IDAZ International Research Consortium (IRC) is pleased to welcome Państwowy Instytut Weterynaryjny – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy (PIWet), the Polish National Veterinary Research Institute, as its newest member.
Established in 1945, the National Veterinary Research Institute is a leading Polish research institution dedicated to advancing veterinary medicine, animal health, public health, and food safety. Operating as a state research institute, it conducts scientific research and development activities focused on the prevention and control of animal diseases, including zoonoses, while also contributing to the safety of food and feed production systems.
The addition of PIWet further strengthens the international expertise represented within STAR IDAZ IRC and reinforces the consortium’s commitment to fostering global collaboration in animal health research. Through its network of public and private research funders, programme owners and international partners, STAR IDAZ IRC works to identify shared research priorities and accelerate the development of innovative tools and solutions to address major animal health challenges.
PIWet brings extensive scientific expertise and a long-standing commitment to supporting veterinary services and animal health systems. As part of its membership, the Institute will contribute to the consortium’s activities through participation in the STAR IDAZ IRC Executive Committee, where it will be represented by Prof. Marcin Smreczak.
STAR IDAZ IRC looks forward to working closely with PIWet and its experts to strengthen international research coordination, promote scientific collaboration, and contribute to the development of solutions that improve animal health systems worldwide.
