Bioinformatics and Biological Resources Fund (26BBR)

The fund supports the implementation, improvement and consolidation of bioinformatics and biological resources that support UK bioscience research and innovation. Projects need to deliver a community resource addressing significant demand or supporting an established bioscience user base. UK Research and Innovation

The call particularly supports resources including:

– Biological databases and complex datasets – improving management, discovery, integration and reuse of bioscience data, including making resources FAIR and increasingly AI-ready.

– Bioinformatics software and tools – maintained, state-of-the-art tools supporting advanced analysis and workflows, including AI and machine-learning applications.

– Biological materials and collections – including culture and germplasm collections, mutant lines, clones, DNA samples and genetic libraries.
