Scope
This call falls under Horizon Europe’s Cluster 6, which focuses on food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture, and environment. It aims to support sustainable fisheries and aquaculture by promoting innovation, environmental resilience, and competitiveness. It aligns with the EU’s Farm to Fork Strategy and seeks to enhance aquaculture diversification, improve production methods, and reduce the sector’s environmental footprint. The initiative encourages the development of low-trophic species farming and supports integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) as well as organic aquaculture. Additionally, it aims to strengthen consumer awareness, improve market access, and foster international cooperation to ensure a more sustainable and competitive aquaculture industry in the EU.
