New Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda published for European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare

The 2026 Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUP AH&W) is now available, setting out an updated long-term strategic vision for animal health and welfare research in Europe.

STAR IDAZ International Research Consortium for Animal Health contributed to both the development of the original SRIA and the newly revised 2026 SRIA, along with the SCAR Collaborative Working Group on Animal Health and Welfare, which acts as the STAR IDAZ European Regional Network.

The newly updated 2026 SRIA builds on the original, reflecting changes in the European policy landscape and the evolving needs of the animal health and welfare community. It provides clearer research Actions and objectives, alongside updated Key Performance Indicators and a new Impact Matrix to support monitoring of the Partnership’s effects.

By supporting the development of the original and revised SRIA, STAR IDAZ IRC is helping to connect research priorities and objectives in Europe to the wider global landscape and supporting a more coordinated approach to addressing animal health challenges.
