Professor Gary Entrican Receives Distinguished Veterinary Immunologist Award

Professor Gary Entrican has been honoured with the Distinguished Veterinary Immunologist (DVI) Award, presented by the IVIS Veterinary Immunology Committee and supported by Zoetis. The award recognises his outstanding contributions to veterinary immunology, particularly in the field of infection biology, and his commitment to mentoring the next generation of scientists.

The award was formally presented at the 14th International Veterinary Immunology Symposium (IVIS), held in Vienna 11-14 August.

Professor Entrican is a valued member of the STAR IDAZ Scientific Committee, where he has played an important role in shaping the consortium’s research roadmaps. These roadmaps support the development of vaccines, diagnostic tests, therapeutics, and control strategies for priority animal diseases, with a focus on advancing products towards defined target profiles.

The STAR IDAZ International Research Consortium (IRC) is a global alliance that coordinates research efforts to accelerate the development of innovative solutions for animal health and zoonotic diseases.
