SIRCAH meets in Brussels to plan next phase of international animal health research coordination
The Support for the International Research Consortium on Animal Health (SIRCAH) team met in person in Brussels on 5 March 2026 to discuss plans for the remainder of the SIRCAH2 period and to begin looking ahead to SIRCAH3.
SIRCAH serves as the Secretariat for the STAR IDAZ International Research Consortium (IRC), providing organisational and communication support to the consortium and its members. Through this work, the Secretariat contributes to the development of policies and guidelines that help coordinate animal health research at the international level and support the advancement of new and improved animal health strategies.
The STAR IDAZ IRC is a global network of animal health research funders and programme owners. By coordinating research efforts worldwide, the consortium aims to accelerate the delivery of effective disease control tools and strategies.
Following the productive discussions in Brussels, the Secretariat now looks ahead to the next set of meetings in Ottawa in May, where it will coordinate the Scientific Committee, Executive Committee and Americas Regional Network meetings. These meetings will continue to support collaboration and strategic alignment across the global STAR IDAZ community.
