Profile
I defended my PhD (MontpellierSupAgro & Univ. Montpellier) in Integrative Biology in 2002. I was recruited in 2003 as an INRAE permanent researcher in BIOEPAR unit, Nantes, France. With skills in mechanistic modelling, animal epidemiology, and population dynamics, my researches focus on better understanding and predicting the multi-scale spread of pathogens and the spatio-temporal dynamics of host and vector populations. I obtained my HDR (Habilitation to Supervise Research) in 2010. Research director since 2015, I have created and lead DYNAMO team, composed of BIOEPAR modellers, from 2015 to 2023. I have been involved in many national and international collaborative projects, on multiscale epidemiological modelling, livestock movement network, vector population dynamics and vector-borne disease spread, modelling challenge in animal epidemiology, and prioritisation of infectious animal disease control strategies. Since 2023, I am co-leading the Horizon Europe WiLiMan-ID project (ecology of wildlife, livestock, human and infectious diseases in changing environments) and I am leading the WP on interactions among pathogens, hosts, vectors and the environment: role in infectious diseases emergence, spread and persistence. Furthermore, I launched and co-organised the three editions of the "Modelling in Animal Health" conference. I also trained many students (PhD, Master, etc.) and contributed to higher and continuing education in my field of expertise. Finally, I am the author of more than 90 scientific articles and full conference papers. Since 2025, I am the head of INRAE animal health division.
