FULL PROFESSOR IN PARASITOLOGY - UNIVERSITY OF CORDOBA (SPAIN)

Profile
Research developed in animal parasitosis, especially in helminth infection immune control strategies (vaccine trials), as well as in epidemiology of parasitic zoonotic processes from a One Health perspective. Participation in 20 national research projects, in 10 as principal investigator, and in international projects related to immune control strategies in ruminant parasitosis (FP6 DELIVER, FP6, and PARAVAC, FP7). Coordinator of Working Group 4 (immune response WP4) in the COST action FA-0805 CAPARA; member of the Management Board of the H2020-PARAGONE-EU-635408 project as head of WP4 (Training) and of the COST actions CA-16230 COMBAR and CA-23154 ENVIRANT. Recent activities along two lines: (1) investigation of parasite-host interactions at cellular and molecular level, to identify resistance markers to be used as a basis for the development of vaccines; (2) integration of parasitological control strategies and their applicability on livestock farms in different epidemiological settings.
