A goal-oriented researcher with postgraduate training in veterinary epidemiology and economics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a fellowship training in science communication and Policy from Manchester University, United Kingdom. Embraces the concept of one Health for disease surveillance, response and prevention for enhancement of human, animal and ecosystem health. Adept in generating and analyzing data for evaluation of hypotheses about; disease trends, diagnostics, vaccine efficacy, antimicrobial residues/drug resistance, public health/food safety and general farm health management. Keen in establishing collaborations and partnership with national, regional and international institutions working in the livestock industry to develop disease control programmes to support human and animal health in Africa and beyond. Committed to mentoring colleagues including students and other personnel in the veterinary field for professional development and successful careers.
