Virtual Conference “Translating AMR R&D mapping into policy and action”

On 2 December 2020 the Global AMR R&D Hub held a virtual conference on the theme of Translating AMR R&D mapping into policy and action. The conference was held over three sessions that had three different focus areas. The recordings from all three sessions are now available at https://globalamrhub.org/news-events/events/  along with the conference report. It highlights the 19 recommendations that arose from the discussions, which included establishing a funding consortium comprised of Global AMR R&D Hub Board members; identify the R&D priorities for animal health; and setting global targets for new compounds and health technologies required to meet public health needs. The recommendations will be considered by the Global AMR R&D Hub’s Board of Members who will respond in 2021.

In the second session of the Conference Dr Stefano Messori from the STAR-IDAZ IRC Secretariat, spoke about the importance of identifying priorities, gaps and research roadmaps in the dealing with AMR and finding alternatives to antibiotics.
