STUDENT EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING: A SYMPOSIUM ON PATHWAYS TO BUILDING BACK BETTER THE RESEARCH ENTERPRISE AT THE 1890 LAND-GRANT UNIVERSITIES

<b>Project Methods</b><br> The Association of 1890 Research Directors has convened several research symposia with the 1890 universities to provide a forum for interactions, knowledge sharing, building networks for expanded partnerships, and to showcase the talents and achievements of the 1890 community. Unlike many national research conferences, the primary purpose of the 1890 research symposium is given to a broad-based research agenda and institutions' capabilities in targeted areas that address the needs of all people in society, but in particular, those who are socio-economically deprived and/or those who live in low-wealth communities. Further, today's methods, particularly post-COVID, of solving current and emerging issues must be through integrated, regional, multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary, creative and innovative means. The future belongs to those institutions that have the foresight, energy, creativity, innovation, wisdom and courage to understand that destiny is not a matter of chance, but a matter of choice and the will to achieve.The 2022 research symposium serves the purpose of not only allowing for programming to be on display that is cutting edge, but it also allows those to come together whose programming is focused on a broad-based research agenda that targets areas that address the needs of all people in society and in particular, those who are socio-economically deprived.
