Using symbiotic interactions between probiotic Bacilli to mitigate udder pathogens in dairy cows

Summary

This study aims to develop a combination of encapsulated probiotic bacteria for use as an alternative, non-chemical and non-antibioitc method for mastitis prevention. Probiotic Bacilli and Lactobacilli were isolated from healthy udders in dairy farms and screened for antibacterial properties against the main mastitis pathogens, survival on cow skin, lack of pathogenicity in the udder, lack of antibiotic resistance.
