Profile
Expert in Infectious Diseases, Applied Veterinary Immunology, and Vaccine Development with over 25 years of experience, I bring a strong scientific foundation and a sustained commitment to advancing animal health. I hold a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires and completed postdoctoral training in Neonatal Immunology at the University of Maryland. My work has consistently focused on understanding and enhancing the mechanisms underlying vaccine-induced protective immunity and strategies to reduce antimicrobial resistance. Throughout my career, I have led R&D programs in global biotech companies, including Prionics AG and Biogenesis-Bagó. Currently, I serve as CEO of the Global Foot-and-Mouth Disease Research Alliance (GFRA), where I lead international efforts to innovate vaccine technologies and diagnostic tools, particularly for Foot-and-Mouth Disease and other viral and parasitic infections affecting livestock. My expertise spans the full spectrum of vaccine R&D, from immunological strategy design to regulatory frameworks, manufacturing, and sales management in the Latin American region. I have been honoured with awards such as the INNOVAR and Israel Innovation Awards, recognising my contributions to scientific innovation and public health. I am a results-driven leader who values collaboration, empathy, and cultural exchange. I’m especially passionate about promoting the One Health approach, bridging veterinary, human, and environmental health through science and international cooperation.
