Profile
Since the beginning of my professional journey, I have remained deeply engaged with the multidimensional world of animal health, livestock production, and agricultural development an evolving process of learning and contribution that continues to this day. My academic background includes a Master’s degree in Animal Production Science with DVM , complemented by extensive national and international training in planning and development, import risk analysis, and the application of World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) standards for trade facilitation. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving in diverse and high-impact roles within the Federal Ministry of National Food Security & Research, where I am currently responsible for national policy formulation, strategic planning, and regulatory oversight of livestock and livestock product trade. My work encompasses the development and implementation of frameworks for import and export regulation, compliance with Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures, and alignment with World Trade Organization (WTO) and WOAH guidelines. The assignments I have undertaken involve strategic policy development, institutional strengthening, financial and technical management of projects, and international cooperation. I have been actively engaged in risk-based decision-making, enhancing disease surveillance and control systems particularly for Transboundary Animal Diseases (TADs) and promoting climate-smart and sustainable livestock practices. My role frequently involves negotiations among diverse stakeholders, coordination with provincial departments and international partners, and formulation of evidence-based strategies for sectoral growth. In addition to my professional responsibilities, I have also shared my expertise through capacity-building initiatives and technical collaboration, fostering a culture of scientific exchange and policy coherence. Collectively, my education, experience, and field engagement have equipped me with the analytical, strategic, and managerial abilities required for senior-level leadership roles in livestock development and agricultural policy.
