Remco Schrijver (DVM, PhD) is a veterinary microbiologist and animal health, welfare and food safety expert with 39+ years of experience across clinical practice, research and outbreak management (Central Veterinary Institute), Risk Assessment (national food safety authority), the pharmaceutical sector, and international consultancy. Since 2006 he has led and contributed to EU- and donor-funded technical assistance projects in food safety, veterinary public health, animal welfare and AMR, supporting capacity building, laboratory networks and regulatory harmonisation in EU Member States and candidate countries. He is deeply familiar with EU decision-making and global food-safety and animal-health standardisation networks (e.g., DG SANTE, OIE/WOAH, WHO, FAO, Codex, EFSA, ECDC).
